With 1,976 posts published here, my database has become bloated and I also have a separate database for the video player, so things need to be streamlined to ensure your future visits provide you with a pleasurable experience and the time has come for this to be done.

Right now I’m doing lots of back-end stuff with the blog, so you won’t notice too much happening at the surface level, but there’s lots of coding and technical stuff taking place deep inside and that’s what’s taking up all of my time right now. Thank you for your patience while I took a couple of weeks off blogging at the beginning of January, as I needed to take a rest and I am feeling replenished and refreshed. Web Hosting

Last year I moved to a new web hosting company that will allow me to provide you with a better and more reliable platform for showcasing bareback porn. Late last year I tried implementing one of the cool features my web host offers called Hip Hop Virtual Machine (HHVM), which is technology developed by Facebook designed to load pages faster by compiling PHP code more efficiently, but I encountered a problem with a plugin conflict that disabled my blog completely for eight hours, so I had to revert to the existing PHP system you are experiencing right now. I will try again once I can work out what the problems is.

Theme Design

You may have noticed that for the past couple of weeks the site design keeps changing. That’s because I made a big fuck up boo boo when I updated my theme and overwrote my style sheet and lost my customization’s in the process. I stored the customized code on my computer, but after searching frantically for the code, it couldn’t be found, so I am working on fixing this at the moment. One of the other current issues is that my upgraded theme is so advanced that it overrides settings I input due to a new feature that is supposed to work with me, but it’s working against me and I cannot get things looking the way I want. If I can’t get this problem resolved shortly, I will purchase a new premium theme to give you a better visual experience.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

One of the most recent improvements relates to security. Last week I deployed a security certificate to my domain which means that when data is transferred between my server and your browser, the data is encrypted, which is a very good thing. The only downside is that the encryption process slightly slows down the loading of pages, but I’m working on improving this by making further enhancements. Now when you visit Brad Bare you will see a green padlock informing you that you’re protected. This layer of protection is designed to secure your data during transmission, but don’t worry, you won’t start seeing condoms on cocks around here – that sort of protection won’t be embraced.

Content Delivery Network (CDN)

Last year I implemented a faster video delivery system through the use of a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to make everything load faster and improve your experience. Because the CDN costs are in addition to my regular web hosting costs, I have been limiting the videos to one minute in length and removing them after a couple of months. I have also been experimenting with video editing and I have decided to reduce the resolution from 824 x 464 pixels to 640 x 360 pixels for a smaller file size, whilst still trying to maintain a decent video quality and I think I’ve found the right balance. The idea behind this is so I can provide longer trailers for a longer period of time, maybe even indefinitely. I expect to start rolling out the new videos about halfway through this month and the good news is you can still expand the videos to full screen mode at the touch of a button if you wish to make them bigger.
